Types Of Criminal Cases We Handle

Our firm has worked with individuals charged with a variety of crimes, including, but not limited to:

  • Murder and attempted murder
  • Violations of Illinois gun laws
  • Robbery and armed robbery
  • Sex offenses, including sexual assault
  • Battery, including aggravated and domestic battery
  • Drug offenses, including possession and manufacture/delivery of narcotics

We believe that a strong defense starts with exceptional investigation and case analysis. We will thoroughly examine the state’s charges against you and give you a frank assessment of what we consider to be the best outcome — which could be an acquittal, a plea agreement, a reduced sentence or having the charges dismissed completely.

A Recent Landmark Victory

Our firm has overseen numerous cases that resolved successfully for the defendant. One recent example was Alvarez vs. Howard, which Frank A. Tedesso argued before the Illinois Supreme Court in September 2016.

Thanks to his efforts, the defendant, a 15-year-old boy charged with first-degree murder in 2013, who had been transferred to be tried as an adult, was able to benefit from a change in state law that increased the transfer age to 16. Instead of serving 45 years in prison, the young man received probation through a juvenile court until he was 21, and will have the opportunity to have his adult sentence of 20 years vacated if he successfully completes probation.
